My name is Dick Schoenmakers
I am a Dutch photographic artist driven by curiosity, observation and a fascination with the way places
can affect us.
For more than fifteen years, Rosary of Enlightenment has been at the heart of my work. What began with an
unexpected way of looking at sacred architecture gradually developed into a much broader exploration of
people, connection and the values we share.
My panoramic approach allows me to create perspectives that cannot be experienced in a single glance. But
technique has never been the destination. It is a way of inviting the viewer to slow down, look again and
discover something beyond the immediately visible.
Over the years, the people I have met, the stories I have encountered and the changing role of the places I
photograph have become as meaningful to me as the architecture itself. I create images to inspire wonder, and
perhaps to open a conversation about how we want to live together in the future.
All images in Rosary of Enlightenment originate from photographs made on location. No AI-generated imagery is used in the creation of the works.
